This is an ultra-thin short pasta.
In Tunisia, it is commonly enjoyed as a soup pasta.
In Egypt, it is used in rice dishes such as Koshari and Sha‘riya.
In recent years, it has also gained attention as a substitute for kadaif in Dubai chocolate.
Traditionally, ultra-fine kadaif pastry is used, but it can be difficult to find in Japan.
That’s where vermicelli comes in.
When lightly toasted until golden and fragrant, the fine strands create a delightful crispy, crunchy texture that pairs perfectly with chocolate and pistachio.
